DPS Sirsa Attending First MUN at 4th CGC
On 26th & 27th Jan 2019 students from DPS, Sirsa attended their 1st #Model_United_Nations_Conference at 4th CGC INTERNATIONAL MUN, Chandigarh. Delegates attending conference Ms. Vaani Mehta (Botswana), Ms. Arpana Garg (Finland), Mast. Karan Pratap Bhangu (Malaysia) and Mast. Siddharth Vikram (Monaco) with teacher escorts Ms. Rinki Singh. On 26th Jan, conference started with the grand opening ceremony. Chief Guest for the event was Ms. Mia Yen, Consul General Canadian High Commission Chandigarh along with other dignitaries Mr. Vipin Verma Sales and Operations idp Chandigarh and Campus Director Dr. PN Hrishikesha, Prof. Dr. Ramandeep Founder MUN CGC. Mr. Ankit, Secretary General MUN declared the conference open. There were in all 6 committees and around 240 students from schools and colleges participated in the conference. Delegates from DPS Sirsa participated in UNGA-DISEC discussing the topic “Instability in the Mediterranean Region and its Impact on Global Security”. Students participated in GSL (General Speakers List) and put forward their ideas over the topic.
Day 2, on 27th Jan, students came out with the solutions to the problems and drafted a resolution for peace. The conference ended with the closing ceremony and the Chief Guest was Mr. JS Jayara Principal Institute of the Blind. Mast. Siddharth Vikram was the youngest delegate and was highly praised by all and was interviewed by the branding team. It was wonderful to see all young minds gathered in one place exchanging thoughts and ideas and forming linkages to work together for brighter world of tomorrow.
